This year the Czech Republic looks back on a 100 years since the founding of the republic. The Moser Glassworks from Karlovy Vary will also be part of the celebrations as it has represented the republic around the world right from the very start.
The glassworks has prepared a unique collection of 15 objets d’art for this special anniversary. The first two majestic vases, which will decorate the representative hall, were handed over by the glassworks’ representatives, together with the master glassmakers, at Prague Castle on Tuesday 9 January. “As a traditional Czech company, we want to contribute to the Republic’s jubilee anniversary by decorating one of the most famous halls in the country with the unique work of Karlovy Vary’s glassmakers. The look of the decorative collection was inspired by iconic Moser forms from around 1918, which have been artistically reproduced and symbolically transferred to the present. The gilded strips of lime leaves, a reference to one of the state symbols, give the works an inimitable grandeur. Thus the entire collection contrastingly sits with the architecture of Prague Castle and tells a great story for the future generations of the Czech nation,” explains Lukáš Jabůrek the glassworks’ Art Director.
