FAQ - Moser products

Are the Moser products from the real crystal or from the glass only?

Since its foundation in 1893 the Moser glassworks has been focusing on the crystal glass production without the use of lead which is great at its hardness and brilliance (high refraction index). It has been the company’s know-how how the lead-free crystal glass is melted at the glassworks achieving the parameters of leaded crystal, however, without any use of lead. Generally we can claim that the definition of crystal expresses pure glass of very high quality which approaches the characteristic of natural crystal thanks to its properties and beauty. One of the most significant properties of the Moser crystal is its unusual hardness and dynamics of the glass mass offering limitless advantages for cutting and engraving.

Instructions:

Products of the Moser glassworks are traditionally manufactured by hand shaping and decorating. Every product reflects unique beauty and glassmakers´ craftsmanship constantly developed since the time when Ludwig Moser established the company in 1857.

Moser has brought to you products with the best characteristics using traditional technology of hand manufacture, original design and handicraft. Crystal products are more delicate than other kinds of glass. Therefore, you need to work with them and handle them in a proper way so that they are enjoyed and last for many oncoming years. Please pay attention to reading our advice before you begin to use your product.

Here is some advice to help keep and enjoy your product for many years.

We do not recommend putting the product into a microwave oven or a classical oven for reasons of its easy damage.

When working with heavy glass vases, bowls and beaker, please handle them very carefully.

Use some cloth or leather between the product and hard surface, such as metal or stone, to prevent scratches.

If you handle glass carefully, you will keep the product in the original condition.

Do not store food or drinks in glass dishes for a long time.

If possible, store the product in dustproof conditions. If you have not used the product for a longer time, clean it always after several months and wipe off the naturally settled dust.

When storing products one onto the other put a soft cloth or paper between them.

Do not leave the glass product exposed to the sun for a long time. Glass lenses of the product may work as a magnifying glass and set something on fire.

Protect your glass from humidity, sudden changes of temperatures and sharp light. Sudden temperature changes can increase the internal stress of the glass product and cause its breakage.

Remember that the upper glass rim is the most fragile part and can be damaged easily. When storing it, leave some free space between the glasses themselves.

We recommend that you leave a candle burning in a candleholder in so far that fire does not touch glass. Otherwise, the product may be damaged.

Do not leave a vase, a tumbler or any other products filled with liquid near electric appliances. Split water may cause a short circuit. Place the products out of children’s reach.

Instructions how to wash a product

We do not recommend using a dishware for reasons of easy damage of a product. Wash a product in cool water with little detergent and use a soft cloth or a sponge. Do not use powder detergent which may cause product scratches. Do not press the product, particularly a thin stem or a goblet wall. In order to remove hard removable stains, try a slice of lemon with a bit of salt. In order to clean the cut decoration, please use a soft tooth brush.

If you follow our recommendations, the Moser products will be your long-lasting joy.
