- several words about the inspiration of the engraver to
his creation:
- It was always Mr. Holubek´s artistic dream to bring this
world famous painting with mythological inspiration onto the Moser
crystal. The inner conflict of this beautiful young girl and her
dilemma either to open her heard or not to the new love symbolized
by Eros was therefore a major challenge for Mr. Holubek. The young
girl is trying to defend herself from falling in love - the message
seems to be clear. But if you watch the picture more carefully for
a while, you can easily find out that while her hands try to push
Eros, the messenger of love, away, her eyes, her lips and her
body seem to try to attract him and invite him at the same time.
The eternal struggle between the reason and the heart - what a
challenge for an engraver. It represents Mr. Holubek´s lifelong
fascination. Althought being deprived of the colour possibilities
of the original painting, by using his copper wheels, his world
class talent and exceptional skills came through and Mr.
Holubek brought into light another perfect and breathtaking
masterpiece.
